We're Hiring!

We're looking for 2 new hires: a market lead and a barista to join our team starting in May. The barista position is for our Leesburg location. Market lead job description and requirements listed below. 

Cowbell Kitchen is a small food business that focuses on sourcing only the freshest ingredients from local farmers and producers. We're at six farmers markets in the DC area, complete with a store front in historic downtown Leesburg. We sell grilled sandwiches and locally sourced sweet and savory pastries. We do special order cakes including wedding cakes and dessert bars. All of our products are handmade from scratch and have a nostalgic feel from the past with a present day twist. We are a growing business with a future for the right person.

Market Lead Job description:

The market lead will be responsible for driving our van from our kitchen in Leesburg to the market, market setup and takedown, and then driving and returning the van to Leesburg after the market. Ideally, the market lead lives in close proximity to our Leesburg location. 

Market shift ranges from 6-8 hours including driving, set up and breakdown. Market hours vary, but the market lead will need to be an early riser. Some markets will require leaving from our Leesburg kitchen as early as 6:00am to drive into DC and Arlington.

This position is the market face of our business. They must understand our values and confidently lead and represent us at the markets. They must be comfortable and engaging with customers and a team player with the rest of the crew. They will be responsible for leading our market crew and ensuring our product and brand is rightfully represented.


The ideal candidate is a people person and has a genuinely positive attitude. They are reliable and responsible for their actions, timely and efficient, and have a strong work ethic. The market lead must be a team player. Most of all, they understand our values and have passion for life!

Availability to work 4 days per week from April - October. Our market days are Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun. We are looking to hire someone to work at least 6 months, preferably longer if possible. Dec- Mar this position will drop to only Sat/Sun. 

Reliability: Markets are open in all weather conditions, except if we are notified ahead of time. Timeliness is crucial. The ideal candidate is an early bird. 

Ability to setup and breakdown our booth including a 10' x 10' pop up tent, tables, and lift up to 50lb. 

Leadership skills: the market lead will be met at the markets by 1-3 member(s) of our crew. They will be responsible for making sure the crew is up to date with any new procedures.

Previous customer service and/or food industry experience is preferred.

Valid drivers license and clean driving record.


Compensation is $12/hr plus tips. Paid every 2 weeks, direct deposit.
